Hello,
I've been using the Canon LiDE product for many weeks now. One day, though, when I tried to use the scanner app (Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite) it suddenly, upon trying a scan, repeatedly interrupted its scan for a second. Naturally, I redownloaded the app, but this time absolutely nothing appeared, no GUI or anything - I would click the app, and then it would open and immediately and subsequently shut itself off! Even after multiple redownloads, a restart, and even going into my Library folder to remove all instances of "Canon" before redownloading, this same error occurred.
The issue with the scanner reinterrupting its scan implies a hardware issue, but upon clicking the button to scan on the Canon scanner, the Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite app breathes life into itself (or something) and the scan works perfectly, before upon exiting the app again (and thank goodness obtaining a picture-perfect PDF) the scanner app again dooms itself to oblivion.
So this begs the question, as a loyal(?) customer - what's going on? I've looked to other places and there's no other issues like this in forums or anywhere - usually the issues lie in the USB connection or something of the sort, and not the actual app. Are there any ways I can download an earlier version of the app? Was my removing "Canon" instances in the Library folder not enough to reset the download to its factory state - is there a specific app to un-download the IJ Scan Utility Lite app? Any guidance would very much be appreciated!
