My CanoScan Lide400 was working great with my Mac until now when MacOS Tahoe26.4 was installed.

The scanner doenst scan or created an overview. I have restarted, disconnected and still nothing.

Please provide a solution ASAP, I am using it for my business! I might have to chuck it away and buy a new scanner from another company, i dont want to throw away my money.

1. What was the previous macOS you were using?

2. Did you try installing the Sequoia driver from the Canon support site.

3. Did you try calling Canon support at 1-800-OK-CANON.

4. If it turns out that the device is not compatible with macOS Tahoe you could try downloading VueScan from Hamrick Software.

I just posted a similar problem with Mac OS Tahoe 26.3. Can you look for it in Related Content?

Thank you, I read it - I am trying to undertand what a powered USB hub is - did you find a product? Does it have to connect to pwer supply socket? it just seems an expensive solution compared to the cost of the scanner, but willing to try it!

Hey there! I'm sorry for the confusion. There are a bunch of options ranging from very inexpensive to very expensive. I've tried and used them all. I use a PD-Passthrough kind on my work laptop (on the right), and an active dock on my Mac Mini (on the left).

thank you, I found a spare one at home and unfortunately it still didn't work on my mac nor my windows laptop. Seems like it's for tossing. I still dont understand how it suddenly stopped working. I bought this scanner April last year. I was using it on average once a week max.

Maro_pap, I don't know what other basic flatbed scanners to consider. I looked at the reviews of the Epson flatbed scanner and they have identical problems with connection to a Mac and/or Tahoe 26.x. In fact, their cable is an older version with a Micro B on the scanner end and a USB-A on the Mac end.
