I can't get my document to scan by using the printer panel PIXMA TS6520

I'm old and can't figure this out. I got the printer to connect to my wifi, but my router is now connected by ethernet cable for wifi , I don't know if that makes a difference ? But when I look at the printers panel and I select scan it only says "local usb" or "search again" ? I have no way of finding my printer on my computer, my old hp printer had an icon on the desktop and I just clicked it and could print or scan. I can't find this pixma anywhere on my computer, so I can only use the panel on the printer. The only thing I've been able to do since I've had it is print and I've had it for 2 months !

If you search "Canon support for TS6520" you will get this:

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-ts6520?srsltid=AfmBOoooBr1oPVvZTyLdUho3lwWMybH1rOPGvhLKgHy...

Register your product and then request support.

Just be sure you are on the Canon site. There are bad actors out there that will claim to be Canon support and charge large fees and/or try and get into your computer.

Did you install the TS6520 printer driver on your computer? What kind of computer - Mac or Windows?

How did you connect the printer to Wi-Fi?

I have windows 11, I tried installing the driver and the master set up, they both failed. Now I'm installing the wifi set up, and I have to shut down all my open pages. The printer shows my IP address for my wifi though. I'll be back when it's done.

Greetings @lazlo4 ,

For our benefit, can you please provide clarification on the following?

Only one connection method is needed.  Please choose Wi-Fi or ethernet.  Do not attempt to use both simultaneously.

This will help us better understand your environment.

Well I don't understand this. The screen is so small on the panel that I'm having trouble finding what ip address I have, but I think it's lan ? I've tried twice to install the driver and master setup, they both fail. But it shows wifi setup worked ?

Maybe you would benefit from live help by calling Canon support for your region.

When I signed up for wifi I got a tower, then when I was having problems the tech guy came out and hooked a ethernet cable to the router and then to the computer. But the printer panel showed the ethernet ip address, so I guess it switched over from the wifi address ? I went looking for it now but I can't even find the ip address anymore, the panel is too confusing for this old girl.

I would love that ! I tried finding live help , but couldn't find it on here.
