imageCLASS MF753Cdw - Help Installing Printer and Scanner Functions

cconlopz
Apprentice

I recently purchased the printer and I used the CD to install it.  However, the only function that was installed is the FAX and I don't know how or where to go from here so that my computer can recognize the printer and print either with USB or wireless LAN

Please HELP

Greetings,

The MF753Cdw is no longer being sold. A newer version is now available. MF753Cdw II has replaced it.

No problem though.  The first generation is still supported.  🙂

Drivers are available here: (Windows or MAC)

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/color-imageclass-mf753cdw

Please follow these steps to get up and running.

Please choose your connection method, use only one.  Wireless is the most convenient since it will allow any device connecting to the same network to use the printer.

Disconnect the USB cable from your system

Remove the printer from your system

Uninstall any incomplete or failed installations, remove all software.

important, restart your system

Visit the link above, select downloads, select your OS.  You need the printer driver and the scanner driver.  For Windows this is the MF print driver UFRII that includes scan gear.  You will also need MF scan utility v1.21.0.2

If MAC,  you need the printer driver utilities and scanner driver utilities.  The fax driver is optional for both.  You don't actually have to install a fax driver as you can fax from the machine if you connect a phone line to it.

Run the print driver installer first, then the scanner utility.  This will get you printing and scanning.

Optional but recommended.  If you plan to use the printer connected to your network, assigning it a static IP is recommended.  This only has to be done once on your router.

**If you will connect the printer using USB, do not plug it in to your system until prompted to do so by the printer driver installer.

I would suggest discarding the CD that came with your device.  It is very old, and is surely outdated.  Canon has not included install CDs with its products for many years now.  It's always best to download the latest drivers available from the support portal for your product.
