I have been using my printer for over a year now. I recently changed internet providers and my printer is no longer connected to the internet. I need to get my computer and printer to work together but I can't seen to find the information to do this. Please help this old lady get connected please?
I have an Imageclass D570 laser printer connected (or unconnected) wirelessly to my Macintosh Desktop running Sonoma 14.6.1
I very much appreciate any suggestions you can give me. Please talk in simple language because I'm not technical. LOL

Greetings,
Drivers, and instructions for setup, installation and wireless help can be found on your devices support portal.
Have you connected the printer to your new wireless network? If so and you still cannot print, it might be helpful to remove the printer from your system, uninstall its software, restart and run the installation (drivers) software again.

No, the printer is not connected to the internet. The computer is connected to the internet. That's my problem. I can't figure out how to change the printer from the old internet provider to the new internet provider.

Hi Penni,
The printer does not "connect to the internet" per se. It connects to the wireless network your computer and other devices in your home are also part of. This allows the devices on that Network to communicate with each other.
So let's make sure you are using the correct terms to describe your issue. Is your Printer connected to your computer by a cable or was it previously connected to the same wireless network as your other devices?
What is the name of your wireless network? Do you know the password for this new network?
In the link I provided above, there is a section called Wireless help. This will show you how to connect your printer to your home network.

I have the same issue. I had Xfinity and had to be walked through the wireless setup by a Canon technician after my USB connection gave me trouble. Wireless was far more complicated than simply choosing the SSID/access point and entering the password. Now, with Minternet 5G home internet, with both 2.4ghz and 5 ghz, entering the password results in a PSK error and no connection.
So, the printer worked on the old network just fine and I could print from my MacBook, iPad, or even iPhone. Now I cannot get the printer to connect to the new network. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Eric

The printer uses WPA2 encryption. It will not connect to a 2.4 GHz wireless broadcast that is using WPA3 encryption.
Most newer routers can be configured to use WPA3/WPA2 combo or WPA2 only for backwards compatibility. The 2.4 GHz broadcast must be configured to use WPA2 in order for the printer to connect.

Unless you absolutely need to use your printer directly on WIFI, a USB printer cable is more reliable, less connection issues. I have my home network setup with the printer connected by USB to one computer, with it set for printer sharing and the other devices, tablets, phones can still print using WIFI.
