Canon MF663Cdw Keeps Disconnecting from WiFi

Hi everyone,

I'm having a persistent issue with my Canon MF663Cdw randomly disconnecting from my WiFi network. When this happens, the printer disappears from my router’s connected device list and I’m unable to print until I restart the printer. Here are the troubleshooting steps I’ve already tried:

  • Connected the printer to a 2.4 GHz network
  • Assigned the printer a fixed IP address (DHCP reservation) through my ASUS router settings
  • Turned Power Save Mode OFF under Connection Settings
  • Confirmed the printer is running the latest firmware
  • Moved the printer right next to the router to rule out signal issues

Despite these changes, the printer still disconnects from the network and stops responding to print jobs until the printer power is restarted.

Has anyone experienced this with the MF663Cdw or found a reliable fix? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If the printer goes to sleep it can lose connection. You might want to disable auto off which I think is an option with just about all Canon printers.

On inkjets yes

But not lasers....  For sleep.  You can choose between 60 seconds and 2 hrs.

Note however, you can disable sleep on the printers wireless adapter (NIC) on Canon lasers.  This is independent of the sleep function for the device which cannot be completely disabled.

Anyone needing assistance should start a new topic, their own 😉

Here's a link to do that

My MF663Cdw doesn't have an "auto off" option. It has "auto sleep" that you can set between 1 and 60 minutes.

I didn't start a separate topic because I'm experiencing the same problem on the same model printer as OP. Having multiple duplicate topics just creates confusion.
