My client wants me to add his Canon MF260 to his new Windows Server that we installed.
I have installed the drivers that come with the Canon printer via the DVD.
The server has the printer set up, but when I try to print a test page I just get a generic "error" in the print queue for the test page. And of course it doesn't print.
What should I check?
When I try to add the printer to Windows AD, I also get an error. The printer is directly connected via port LPT1 to the server. Any ideas?

Since this is a USB and network-connectivity machine, why would it be on an LPT1 port? It should be on a USB port.
Try completely uninstalling it from Windows, then reinstall.
BTW, is this a Windows SERVER operating system, or just regular Windows whatever?

OK having the user reconnect the USB and then doing an uninstall/reinstall worked!
This is for Windows Server 2022 installation.
It was a manual install but it did work! Thanks!
