Cannot install drivers for new MF4890dw. Please help

Please help. Cannot install drivers MF4890dw. Wireless connection. Drivers install fine and work for XP computer but main computer is Win 8.1 with error code 0x000000D followed by "Data is invalid". Been looking for solution over 1 month.

Hi pacaman!

 

You will need to download and install the drivers from the Canon USA website.  Please click the link below and select "Drivers and Software".

  1. Click the red arrow beside "Drivers" and select [Windows 64bit] imageCLASS MF4890dw/MF4880dw]. 
  2. Next, select, "I Agree - Begin Download". 
  3. When downloading the drivers from the Canon USA website, please save the file before you run it.  Once you run the file, it will extract a Setup folder in the same location, normally your [Downloads] folder, as the original file. 
  4. Open the folder and double-click on the "Setup.exe" file. 
  5. This will open the "MF Drivers Setup Wizard". 
  6. Select "Network" as the connection and then follow the instructions in the "Wizard" to complete the installation.

I have been having this issue as well. I am running the proper driver installer. The UFRII LT printer driver will install without an error, but the UFRII LT XPS Printer driver returns with error code 0x000000D followed by "Data is invalid"

So that I can better assist you, I would like to ask a few questions.

 

  1. Which operating system are you running on your computer?
  2. How are you installing the driver?  Are you using the User Software CD-ROM that came with the machine?

I am running windows 8.1 64bit. I downloaded the drivers from the canon site and did confirm that I downloaded the driver installer for windows 8.1 64bit.

Bump, still no response.
