Greetings,

It sounds like you may be running Windows 11 for ARM, and that's your system might have a Snapdragon processor?

The Canon applications for this printer are intended for systems based on Intel or AMD architecture.

You can use native drivers supplied by Microsoft for the install.  See this article for assistance.

I would also recommend installing the windows scan utility from the Microsoft store.

The Canon Print Assistant App is also popular for scanning.

Thanks, Rick.

That is the case and now I understand why it will not install.

I have it connected to the wireless network, and when I started up this morning it changed IP's and I had a hard time finding it again when I went to print so I was looking to go back and get the right drivers.

I will keep an eye on it, possible I just did not give it enough time for it to find the printer while printing.

I also hooked it up to scan to a shared folder which was also an experience but I eventually figured it out.

Thank you for the notes and reply.  I truly appreciate it.

Regards,

Curtis

Greetings,

Glad I could help.  I suggest that you log into your router and reserve or assign a static IP for the printer.  Once this is done restart the printer and it will grab that IP.  This is important for consistent and reliable communication. This way it doesn't matter if the printer is turned off, goes to sleep or is not used for an extended period of time. It will always get the same IP when it's powered up.  You don't want a moving target.

It is also beneficial to install the printer as a TCP IP device in Windows.  This causes Windows to use the statically assigned IP as its primary communication protocol.  You don't need to make any changes on the printer, just on your router.  This takes DNS and host name resolution out of the equation.  😉
