Hello! My pronter has stopped working. I am getting an error code as listed above, with the very common, LAN not connected, etc. even though it is. I have a Pixma MX 722 and am running Windows 7. And I live in Canada, if that matters.

Thanks for the help!

Hello,

I get an error code   5 157 69:  scan  doesn't work

I have an  MG 5550 ,  Windows 10 and a wired connection ;  the problem seems to  exist since I changed the Wifi  box.

Thanks for the help

Hi bernard1,

The 5,157,69 error is usually an indication that security software such as a firewall or anti virus is blocking the scanning function from operating.  Please temporarily disable these programs and attempt to scan again.

Hi  Patrick !

I contacted the support group as you  recommanded ; they  answered that they  would answer within 12 hours,  but they  didn't.

Could you  help me?

Hello bernard1,

Thanks for reaching back out to Canon USA!

Your printer, the PIXMA MG5550 is not a model that is supported here in the USA. If you're outside of the US, please head to http://global.canon/en/support/ and select your country or region for support options.

If your model is a US model, and you're in the USA, our team can be reached by clicking here: http://Canon.us/ContactCF

We hope this helps clarify!

I am getting this error code as well. I was able to scan about 2 weeks ago via my pixma mg 5420 and my pixma tr8520 from my laptop, running Windows 10, my other laptop, running Windows 7, or my desktop running Windows 10. But it stopped working. I tried re-installing, but that didn't work. I got so frustrated I removed the device from the laptops and tried from the beginning. Nada. The only method that "works" is scanning using the control panel on the desktop, but the scan isn't as good as via the Canon software for some reason. The printers were working, that is, until I removed them from the laptops. So I need help with the error and how to install the printers again.

THANKS!!!

Hi AlexaR,

So we can best assist you, we would need some more information to help narrow down this issue.

  1. Before the issue, were you scanning directly from the printer or from the computer using IJ Scan Utility?
  2. If you are using IJ Scan Utility, is the printer listed as MG5400/TR8500 series Network?
  3. Did the computers or laptops run any type of Windows or security updates before this happened?

We look forward to your reply.

Hi - I have a similar problem.

I have a Canon MG3600 scanner printer.  I have it connected via a USB to a laptop running windows 10 (as my wiFi connection has proved a little problematic).  The printer function is working fine but when trying to scan I get this error code (so there is obviously some communication between the two devices.

Any suggestions as to how to remediate this?

Tim
