Hello,
We have integrated the CanoScan LiDE 300 scanner into equipment running Linux. Our current setup uses direct USB access through the SANE framework, specifically the SANE PIXMA backend, to communicate with the scanner. This approach was chosen to ensure deterministic behavior, low latency, and full control over acquisition parameters—requirements that are critical for our production and calibration workflows.
We would appreciate some guidance on the following points:
We are raising these questions because we have encountered intermittent issues similar to the “Cannot Communicate” error reported by other users - CanoScan LiDE 300 "Cannot Communicate" Error. We have ruled out hardware faults (previously resolved a broken cable issue), as the scanner occasionally resumes operation after changing the driver and retrying scans sometimes.
Any official guidance or documentation would be greatly appreciated.
