why are my images saved on the memory card as .ctg? How can I change them to jpg?

Although I have and use to 50Ds, I also have a PowerShot SX 260 HS that I use when fishing; I can't open the images from that camera with any software I have, including PS Elements 9 and 11. Help!

Perhaps you're looking in the wrong folder:

http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/ctg

Look in the folder that says 100CANON or something similar.
