imageCLASS MF753Cdw Invalid serial number

I just bought a 753Cdw from Amazon and tried to register it and it said I had an unacceptable ID number?  Now what?  If you can't register this printer for warranty, I'm going to send it back to Amazon.  What is going on here?  It has FCC numbers etc just not accepted by warranty page.  any suggestions?
