Maxify MB5120 won't power on after power outage

Hi all.  First time poster hoping for some Sunday help.  Although we had this printer plugged into a surge protector, it won't boot up after a power outage.  We've tried all the tricks we could find online, but no luck.  Only the solid orange alert light is displaying.  Nothing on the LCD screen.  We've unplugged it, let it sit for a while and moved it to a different outlet.  Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

Thanks!

- Larry

Greetings,

Thats not promising .

Unplug, press and holld the power button for about 30 sec.  Reconnect to power and try to power up again.

I don't believe their is a reset procedure for this device.  If it remains in this state, its toast.

Hello,

If your printer is still in warranty, I recommend you contact Canon support at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666), Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST excluding holidays.

You will need to have a Canon account when you call. If you have not created account, please click HERE:

If the LCD screen is blank, and the orange light is solid, try this:

With the power cable unplugged, hold down the power button for five seconds. Then release it for five seconds. Repeat this for a total of five cycles.

Keep the power disconnected afterwards.

Next, Hold down the power button for ten seconds and then release it. Next, keep the power disconnected for two more minutes.

Once this time frame has passed, plug the power in and turn the printer on.

If this does not solve your problem, you need a new motherboard or a new printer.
