Maxify GX7021 Horizontal Banding

I have a Canon Maxify GX7021. When I print color, there are white horizontal bands across the page in the color portions. I've done a print head alignment as well as normal and deep nozzle cleaning. This happens with photos, word documents and anyfile type that displays color. How do I fix it?

I suggest  performing a nozzle check printout, it could help narrow down the source of the banding. Sometimes more than one deep cleaning is necessary, but lets see what the nozzle check shows.

  1. Access the Maintenance Menu
    • Turn on your printer.
    • Navigate to the printer's main menu.
  2. Select Nozzle Check Option

    • Find and select the maintenance or setup option.
    • Choose the nozzle check option from the menu.
  3. Print the Nozzle Check Pattern

    • Confirm your selection to print the nozzle check pattern.
    • Wait for the printer to complete the print job.

Analyzing the Nozzle Check Pattern

After printing, examine the nozzle check pattern for any issues:

Pattern Condition Action Required
No missing lines or horizontal streaks No action needed
Missing lines or horizontal streaks Clean the print head

Thanks DerrickL:

Previously I had done a few nozzle cleaning cycles, as well as a deep clean. After your reply I did one nozzle cleaning followed by five deep cleaning cycles. That seemed to do the trick. No horizontal banding. Thanks for your help. Looks like multiple deep cleaning cycles was the answer.
