MF236n will not scan to pc

Everything else works. The PC recognizes the printer and the printer sees the PC, but I can't scan from the printer. I keep getting "an error occured" message. However I can go to the PC, find the printer in devices and remotely scan from the PC. latest driver is installed.

I am having the same problem:

I have downloaded the drivers.  It is connected via USB.  I can print, I can copy and I can initiate a scan from the computer.

I use Windows 10.

I have been through:

MENU-SCAN SETTINGS-SHORTCUT KEY SETTINGS-REGISTER-SCAN PC1 (CHOSE USB CONNECTION),  Selected B&W Scan - then get settings applied

MENU-SCAN SETTINGS-SHORTCUT KEY SETTINGS-CONFIRM DESTINATION-SCAN PC1- It shows USB Connected PC and B&W Scan

When I put a document in the feeder or flat and try to scan to the computer I have tried:

HOME-SCAN-COMPUTER-B&W SCAN- START It first gets stuck in Scanning - Confirm Destination - Then I get "an error occurred"

HOME-SCAN PC1- It first gets stuck in Scanning - Confirm Destination - Then I get "an error occurred"

HOME-SCAN PC2 - Somehow the name of my computer  I choose it and same result - It first gets stuck in Scanning - Confirm Destination - Then I get "an error occurred"

I have unistalled and re-installed the drivers several times, always diconnecting the printer from the computer, turning off the printer and rebooting the comouter before and after installation. 

Please let me know how I can fix this problem.  Thanks
