My MB2300 seems to drink the ink.
2470 total sheets used
1514 in B&W
956 in color
Yet I am on at least my 5th set of cartridges, and I use the XL size. Have I been misinformed that the cartridges last for several hundreds of pages, or is there an issue with my printer.
Also, why when I print in B&W, does it use the color ink, when there is a black cartridge?

Greetings,
Page yield is influenced by many factors, but the primary one is percentage of ink coverage. An example of this might be printing a text document vs. printing an image. Page yield is directly affected by how much ink you are throwing down on a page. This is measured as a percentage.
