Canon imageclass MF8050cn keeps saying "remove paper jam" but no jammed paper inside

We've been using this printer for several years in our office, and this morning, after a paper jam (and removing it), the printer does not seem to want to work. It keeps indicating that there's paper jammed, however, there's nothing jammed in the area.

It sounds like the tray isn't going up? or the roller in the back in rubbing against the top of the paper? I'm not quite certian what is going on as we've never had this issue the past 8+ years of use.

I've attached a video below to help visualize the issue (and maybe hear the printer trying to raise the tray?

Can someone please help us?

Hello bctw,

Sine you are certain you have removed all of the jammed paper, I suggest you reset your Color imageCLASS MF8050Cn using the steps below.  By resetting the printer's power, the print buffer is cleared and certain sensors are reset.  If there is invalid data in the buffer, or sensors are stuck in a particular mode; a message may appear.

Follow these steps to reset the printer:

 1.  Turn the printer off with the Power button.

 2.  Disconnect the data cable from the printer.

 3.  Unplug the printer's power cord for at least ten minutes, and then plug it back in.

Note: If the power cord is plugged into a surge protector, it may be necessary (for testing purposes) to plug the cord directly into the wall outlet if possible.

 4.  Turn the printer back on.

 5.  Retry the operation.
