I bought a brand new MF726 CDW in 2016. But I did not open until a year later. The COPY or SCAN function outputs a blank page while the print function is O.K. I notice that the scanning light in Platen Glass never lid up even though the motor and bell are still moving the whole scanning assembly at Platen Glass. I google and it was suggested to update new firmware for other MF model. I tried to update new firmware on my MF726 and it did not help. Since then I only use PRINT function. I am wondering what might have gone wrong with the brand new MF 726? Thanks and regards.

Have you tested with another machine, mobile device or system?
Or.. brand new means you have Canon support avaialble.

Thanks Rick. Canon support at that time said it's over a year so they won't come over to have it fixed. Do you think the scanning light bulb was broken? Do you know part number that I can order?

Please try some of the suggestions to resolve the issue:
1. Please ensure all packing material has been removed inside the printer. Check the platen glass area and automatic document feeder (ADF) area.
2. The paper should be face down on the platen glass and the face up in the ADF.
3. The printer should be connected directly to the wall outlet. Please try connecting the printer to another outlet or in a different room.
If you still can not print a copy using the operational panel, the printer will require service. Please visit the Service & Repair website at:
