Canon Image Class MF743Cdw Duplex Printing on Mac OSX

I have been trying to disable duplex printing from my Mac for months - all settings I can find to turn it off has not worked. Every document defaults to 2 sided printing. Does anyone know how this can be resolved?

To disable two sided printing, you would usually uncheck the box for it under your printer settings. I use Big Sur 11.0.1 and any application I print from always prints duplex even when I turn it off. I have had to resort to printing one page at a time.

GOOD NEWS! I reset the printing system and re-added the printer using Airprint and now duplex printing can be shut off.
