I have a Pixma MX920 and have been using the Canon print app and Canon printer service app on my android phone for 4 years now to print documents directly from my phone over wifi.
Up until a few months ago, I was able to print 2-side documents (i.e., duplex printing) and it was always an available option on the apps. However, I recently noticed that the option is no longer there, or is greyed out and I cannot select it!
I have duplex auto printing selected on the printer driver settings page on my PC (from which I can print duplex just fine), and my paper type is set to Plain Paper and the regular 8.5x10 size. Any idea how to restore the duplex printing functionality (or why it was removed) in the android apps?

Greetings,
I still see it in the app. It's listed under print settings. I'm running Pixel 8, Android 15, March security patch. Canon Print App v3.4.0.

That's strange, I am running the same app version but on Android 14 and don't see it under print settings...

This issue still exists. Google search brought me here. Posting "works for me! sucks for you" isn't useful or helpful.

Greetings,
I don't see where someone said that?
If you do not see the feature in your App, you may want to contact Canon Support for assistance.
Start by registering your device in your MyCanon Account to see your support options.

Do you still see the 2 side print function in the android app? Can you post a screen shot so I know where it's supposed to be? It's been months since I posted about this issue, and no app updates, reinstalling, or other instructions I received from customer support have been successful in getting this option to reappear

So I spoke with Canon customer service and after going through a long list of troubleshoots, turns out that canon disabled the 2-side print function in the app for the MX922 printer (and seemingly all their older printer models). They confirmed it is only available for the newer printers.
This is very ridiculous since my printer and phone have the capability of printing 2-side (since I had and used this feature on my canon print app for many years). Canon couldn't give me a reason why they discontinued this functionality for the old printers if they could perform this function. I asked to escalate to their "team" but was told there was no guarantee they would address the issue soon (if at all)....I am giving Canon the benefit of the doubt that this was an error in one of their app updates and that they can restore this option as it was previously.
