Are you printing from a computer? or are you printing from a mobile device?
If you are using a mobile device, what app are you using?
There are three paper types that the SELPHY CP1300 uses; L size, Postcard size and Card size.
If you are using the SELPHY Print Layout app, please make sure that the correct paper size is selected.

Once logged in, click on your SELPHY CP1300 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support.

I just fixed this error on my CP1300. It was driving me crazy. Pull the tray out and check the plastic piece. Mine was bent/almost broken. I gently reshaped it with very small jewelers pliers that I had on had. It fixed the issue. I toiled with this multiple hours. I tried many packs of the proper paper and cassette. The app is terrible. To change from L to P (Japanese Postcard) you need to login on a computer or use the selphy app, which then states that you need the Canon App which is over simplified. My error was 100% the physical tray piece being bent. I'll try attaching photos.
