Hello all,
I have a Pixma iP110 printer that will not turn on. The printer is only pulled out of a drawer for printing on occasion, so it's not plugged in all the time. We've printed 2 times since mid-April to provide an idea of the frequency the printer is used. New toner was installed mid-April.
- When pressing the power button, the toner moves (sometimes), the light flashes for 15 seconds (timed) and then the light goes out.
- The printer is using WiFi, so it's not plugged into any computer.
- Out of the 3 buttons, the light on the power button is the only one that flashes.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

That still leaves the nagging question whether there is a 'phone home' function in the printer, and is so what does it do?

Dear All, had same issue with my Canon Pixma IP110 refused to stay on for over a week, thanks to this forum I have managed to fix with the disable internet access workaround. Canon need to explain why thousands of perfectly good hardware units are suddenly becoming defunct. I had already given up and placed an order for a newer Canon Pixma - thankfully I have now been able to cancel this order and not add my current IP110 to even more landfill. Canon Corporation - pls can you explain what's going on here, surely this isn't a deliberate strategy to force millions of customers worldwide to purchase a new printer and add their current one to landfills?

I had the same problem as reported on Sunday when my house briefly lost power. I powered off my router and was able to power on the IP110. I downloaded the firmware upgrade, connected the printer to a USB cable and installed it. The installation process powers down the printer. I was able to power up the printer without powering down the router.
Canon really could have made an effort to inform users about such a critical problem. Hopefully the firmware upgrade truly fixes it.
