Transfer a Warranty/Registration

Sizzle

Hi,

I sold my Canon G5X MII.  Is there a way to transfer the remaining Warranty/Registration to the buyer?

Thank you!

Hi, Sizzle!
This is from the CarePAK PLUS site:

Can I transfer CarePAK PLUS to another person or transfer to a different product?

The original owner of CarePAK PLUS may initiate a one-time transfer of ownership. You will be required to provide your registration number and a copy of your hardware sales receipt. Contact us at 1-833-CAREPAK (1-833-227-3725). Please refer to "Transferability" in the Terms and Conditions for complete details.

This plan cannot be transferred to a different product. Your CarePAK PLUS plan is tied to the serial number of the original covered product, or replacement product, if applicable.

I hope this helps!

Greetings,

The standard warranty applies to the original purchaser, it is not transferrable.  You can remove a device from your MyCanon account, but the device cannot be registered again.

CarePaks are different, they can be transferred once during the coverage period.

Thanks so much, Rick!   Do you know how to transfer the CarePaks?  I can delve into it, but was thinking you might have the answer handy.  Canon doesn't have many options to contact them from what I can see on their webpage.

Which exact warranty do you have?  The standard Canon limited warranty that came with the camera at time of purchase?  A third-party warranty?  Or did you purchase a Canon CarePak?

Hi Ricky,

It's the standard warranty and Canon CarePak.
