Canon does not use Gmail.

We do have a "last resort" Gmail account for contest winners. Obviously, we speak English as our first language, and this scammer doesn't. We also typically don't contact people to be involved with our influencer program unless they're very famous - and we usually initiate contact on social media (Insta/TikTok).

I would suspect a scam. I don't know why Canon would be using a gmail account when they have their own site.

Thanks for joining the conversation, Shanae! We can confirm that that's not from us. Official correspondence from Canon USA would have an address ending with the "canon.com" domain name. We recommend not replying to it and reporting it to your email service provider if you can.
Have a great day!

As soon as it says "money," that tells me to delete the email.
