Is MPB reputable?

Trying to convince my mother that MPB is reputable. Attempts so far have left mixed results. I’m buying an EF-S 17-55 and an ef to eos r adapter for a bit over 500 usd total. From what I’ve seen, the majority of reviews have said it’s good but others are not so good, saying it’s a scam, etc. I personally don’t believe them, but my mother is another story. Also, the BBB’s reviews say they aren’t good either, but as far as I know the BBB is somewhat of a scam (so is Yelp from what I’ve heard so I don’t trust them either).

Greetings,

Where do you live? The Canon refurbished store Is probably one of the best places to buy used gear from.  Here in the US, KEH and the used departments at Adorama , B&H and Lens Rentals are very popular, trustworthy and reliable for used gear.

I'll let others respond on MPB 's reputation. I don't buy used gear.  Wherever you decide to buy from, make sure the device is inspected, comes with a warranty and right to return.  Mom's can be a hard sell.  😀 Make sure you've done your research.

MPB is absolutely an excellent outfit. I have used them for buying, selling and trading for years. Their item condition ratings are good. They warranty for six months.

Another top-notch used equipment dealer I love is UsedPhotoPro.com.

I have purchased from there before. It was a pretty good experience, but the only thing I could complain about is shipping. It came a lot later than what they said it would.

There are numerous reasons why shipping may not be as fast as you want, expect, or was promised. Some are in the control of the vendor, some are not. That's why there is tracking. You can see when an order was shipped. After that, it's out of the vendor's hands.

Definitely! I just remembered it was shipped out later than they said. Other than that my experience was great.

Firstly I'm in the UK. For me MPB is a good place to get quality used camera gear, and they do make it easy to sell or trade in gear you no longer use or need. I have traded in kit against other used items, and I have sent kit to them that they swiftly paid the agreed money to me. I have also experienced the case where the kit I sent them was appraised better than I indicated and they paid me more than the original quoted price.
