Canoscan 9000F Mark II 35 mm slide issue

Steve52

Hi:  I am trying to scan 35mm slides and about half of the slides are being cropped.  Sometimes as much as a third of the photo is missing (usually the left and right sides).  Does anyone know what i am doing wrong or how to correct?

Thanks

Hi Steve52,

Please try these steps:

 1.  Click on Start, All Programs, Canon Utilities, IJ Scan Utility and then IJ Scan Utility to open the program.  If you are using a Mac, please open the Applications folder, then the Canon Utilities folder.

 2.  Click the Scangear button.

 3.  Click the Advanced Mode at the top of the right hand side.

 4.  Click (Film Thumbnail) on the Toolbar.  The whole film image is displayed.

5.  Select unnecessary cropping frames (scan area) and click (Remove Cropping Frame).

6.  The cropping frames are deleted. You can also delete the cropping frames by pressing the Delete key.

7.  Specify the scan area of the frame that was not displayed correctly.

8.  Select (Enlarge/Reduce) and click on the image.  The Preview area is enlarged.

9.  Click (Crop) and adjust the cropping frame to the desired size.

10.  Click Scan.
