When trying to install EOSWebcamUtilityPro-WIN2.3 I received the following error "failed to correctly acquire vc_redist.x64.exe file: CRC error." I asked Chat GPT and it said the following but it did not resolve the problem:
"I'm sorry to hear you're encountering a CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error while installing the EOS Webcam Utility Pro. This error typically indicates that the installation file is corrupted or incomplete. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:
Re-download the Installer: The installation file may have been corrupted during the initial download. Visit the official Canon website to download a fresh copy of the EOS Webcam Utility Pro installer. Ensure that the download completes without interruption.
Verify the Download: After downloading, check the file size and compare it with the size indicated on the Canon website. If there's a discrepancy, the file may be incomplete or corrupted.
Disable Antivirus Software Temporarily: Some antivirus programs can interfere with the download or installation process. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and attempt the installation again. Remember to re-enable your antivirus after the installation is complete.
Run as Administrator: Right-click on the installer file and select "Run as administrator" to ensure it has the necessary permissions to install properly.
Check Disk for Errors: A CRC error can also indicate issues with your hard drive. Run the built-in Windows utility to check for and fix disk errors:
Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable: The EOS Webcam Utility Pro may require specific versions of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Ensure that the necessary versions are installed on your system. If not, download and install them from the official Microsoft website.
If after following these steps the issue persists, consider reaching out to Canon Support for further assistance."
Any Ideals how to resolve this issue???
