There were several years where everything worked just fine. Then, (probably after an update of the system software?) suddenly its just the black "EOS WEBCAM UTILITY" banner and no image comes through.
I've tried:

I have exactly the same problem! I can plug either of my 6Ds into my mac laptop or desktop, but all it will ever do is have the red side light on the camera flash for about a minute before turning of, all the while with the 'connect you camera' screen on webcam utility. But, if I plug it into my PC it connects almost instantly without any problems... sounds like a software update for Webcam Utility that doesn't like Mac 😞 (must be recent too, as this only started for me a couple of weeks ago, everything else had been working just fine up until then). It would be great if Canon could look into this, as I'm sure there are dozens of other mac users out there who are stuck with this same problem and don't have a PC as a backup. While I'm on the subject, it would be great if they could look at a new firmware update for the 6D, as the last one was in 2019...
