Yes, as i mentioned, this was a mistake. I wanted to write "enable", but wrote "disable". I think it is a natural requirement to stay in focus as you move in front of the camera. At this short distance between camera and object the focal plane is quite narrow, so it makes perfectly sense to keep the object in focus when it moves in front of the camera. In live view there is an option to enable automatic focusing, so there should be an option for the camera to keep a certain area of the picture in focus when the camera is used as a web cam as well. How can i enable automatic focusing on the Canon 5D in webcam mode?

Which mode do you have to set on the dial to make it work best? I only tested it with the settings menu of teams and in mode A on the dial, and it did not focus automatically. I did not make a call yet because i want to be sure ahead that it works well.

Is that the original 5D that you are using? If so, is the 5D capable of Movie Servo AF? Can it track subjects and keep them in focus in Movie Mode? If not, then it will not be able to do so in WebCam mode, assuming the camera is supported by the EOS WebCam Utility.

@Waddizzie It is an %D MK IV and it has Movie Servo AF. What do i have to set in the camera to make it autofocus in websessions with Teams?

If you are not moving around the room, then there is very little reason to autofocus during a teleconference call. Once the focus is set, switch the lens to MF and leave it that way.
How do you enable Movie Servo AF? The same way you would if you were recording a movie. After all, the proper way to use the Webcam Utility is to switch the camera into Movie Mode.
[EDIT] I suggest that you refer to a Depth of Field app. People use wide angle lenses so that DoF is not an issue.

Hi,
I've just upgraded my 2020 iMac from Catalina to Big Sur (11.2.3). I opened Zoom (5.6.3) and the EOS Webcam Utility was not available as an option.
I downloaded the EOS Webcam Utitly 1.0 installer again from the Canon website and reinstalled it. I restarted the iMac, opened Zoom and the EOS Webcam Utitliy now appears as an option. I selected it and it works!
I have a Canon 70D.
Cheers!

I have a Macbook running Big Sur and a Canon 80D.
I have tried installing, uninstalling, ensuring my Zoom version is updated.
I cannot get this to work. Please help.

If you're on a Mac and the Webcam Utility is not working, try closing Google Drive, Dropbox and any other file sync apps. It seems these apps aggressively try to connect to the camera so they can upload photos, and this prevents the Webcam Utility from connecting.
I couldn't figure out how to prevent Google Drive from connecting to my camera, so I just uninstalled it. Maybe there's a better solution, please reply here if you've found one.
