I have been a long time user of Canon's webcam utility and the recent Sequoia update broke the camera being able to connect with the software and it no longer shows up in the utility software or any of the web conferencing apps (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc.). I know this is a known issue but the updated software 2.2.24 that was supposed to fix the issue has not resolved the problem.
I have upgraded the Mac (MacBook Pro 16" M3) from webcam utility 2.2.22 to 2.2.24 and it is still showing the same behavior of not connecting. I have done a complete uninstall of the utility, re-installed a fresh copy and have checked all the system settings to allow the extension and camera in MacOS. I have also checked and swapped the USB cable with no change.
Looking around on the forums I see some users are having similar issues, any suggestions?

I have the same exact problem. Camera not working. Only with the word "EOS Webcam Utility". Please help.

Hey Canon team,
I just upgraded to MacOS 15.2, did an uninstall and clean install of the latest EOS utility and I'm still unable to get the camera to show any video via the webcam utility or to Team / Zoom. Any new suggestions?
It seems this bug has been going on for several months now with no relief in sight. Is there any testing your developers want to do with the community to get to the bottom of this issue? I'm sure you'd have several folks on the forum willing to work with your engineering to try and get the issue resolved. - Thanks!

Has there been any update on this? I'm on a 2023 M3 iMac using an 80D.
My cables are fine, I have checked the 80's settings to ensure it's not on wifi. The software opens and but it's only showing me the black screen with the USB cable and the X.
I have checked in the Mac's Image Capture app to confirm that my computer does see the 80D connected. It's just not being recognized by the software.

@penholdr I'm still having the same issues and unfortunately haven't seen any updates from Canon on the topic.

Due to the complexity of your issue, we recommend contacting phone support at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666) for further troubleshooting.

Wanted to updated the community and close this thread out. I spoke with Canon phone support the other day to see if they could help finally resolve the on-going issue of no video coming through after upgrading to Sequoia on the Mac. The tech was courteous and tried to figure out the issue but was unsuccessful.
We used https://webcamtests.com/ to make sure the Mac could see the camera, which it did, but it seems the Canon Webcam Utility software is not able to connect with the camera and pass the video on to anything (Teams, Zoom, etc.).
I went ahead and ordered a new Link 2c webcam and everything works fine with the new HW and its software. I'll keep my eye out for future Canon Webcam Utility updates and hopefully get the old setup working again.

Honestly I'd just stick with whatever can bypass canons failed promises. They could write this so that it was recognized as a webcam natively, via the camera firmware, but they push us to use their clunky software in hopes to get someone to subscribe to their services.
I originally put up with it as the integration of my Nikon via capture card was annoying to deal with, but Canon continues to prove that they do not care about Mac users.
