EOS Webcam Utility for Window with the canon r5

Does the 30min recording affect live streams with the Canon r5? If so, what is the solution(s) to get streaming time 3 hrs and over?

Hi gillmardesigns,

When you are using the EOS Webcam Utility with our cameras there is not a time limit. Through the EOS Webcam Utility the camera will continue to output video as long as the camera has power.

The 30 minute limit is on HDMI output. That type of output doesn't use the EOS Webcam Utility and would need to be done through a capture card. To maintain HDMI output beyond the 30 minute cut off you would set the HDMI Display setting to the option with icons of a camera and computer screen. Then you would set Power Saving on the camera to Disable. You would only need to change those settings if you were using an HDMI connection to a capture card.
