Canon m200 EOS Webcam Utility on macOS Catalina 10.15.7

Unfortunately, the latest operating system my MacBook Pro will support is Catalina. I purchased an m200 because it was advertised as being able to be used as a webcam, but I have never been able to get it to work. Every solution posted ad nausum has been tried and does not help.

What I need is previous versions of EOS Webcam Utility, or EOS Webcam Utility Pro, or a refund on the camera so I can buy a Nikon.

Greetings Scott4,

Per review, the EOS Webcam Utility is not available for macOS 10.15 Catalina. The EOS Webcam Utility is available for newer Apple operating systems. Unfortunately, prior versions of the software are not available. For product return inquiries, you may reach out to our Sales Department for assistance. They can be reached at 1-800-385-2155 from Monday through Friday between 9:00 am to 9:00 pm ET.

Can you please give the reason why you refuse to give us access to the older driver software we require?

The old version of the software was removed because it is not compatible with modern operating systems.

The EOS Webcam Utility Pro is not required to use your camera—it is live streaming software that enables you to use your EOS camera as a webcam.

Apple no longer supports Catalina, so you will probably be hard pressed to find other companies that support software or hardware compatible with Catalina.

I checked with a friend who has a Nikon. They told me that macOS 11 or higher is required; you might want to check that.

I have a canon 7d and I run I have the latest Mac, however the New EOS Utility does not show me where I can download my images. Also, in the previous EOS app, I was able to do a remote shoot where I can see the images show on my computer once I take a picture whilst connected using the USB. Now I do not know how to go about it. Can you help?

Greetings denzeltheheart,

The EOS 7D camera was designed to work with EOS Utility 2 but this software application is no longer supported and no longer updated for newer operating systems. Unfortunately, EOS Utility 3 will not function with this older Canon camera.
