I'm getting the same white screen and using the M50 Mark 2 which like the original posted worked but all of a sudden getting a white screen and can only get out of it by selecting force quit.

Please check to ensure that you are using the latest version of the EOS Webcam Utility software. It can be downloaded from the product support page for the EOS M50 Mark II camera.

I would recommend on disabling the camera's Wi-Fi function prior to connecting the camera to your computer with the USB cable. Set the camera to the movie recording mode prior to powering it on and ensure that there is a memory card inside the camera.
Please check to make sure that there are no other applications on your computer that are attempting to communicate with the camera. If possible, please test the camera and software on a different computer. This may help to determine if there is something on the primary computer that is causing the issue.
