You would think it would be so simple - plug the camera into your computer and instantly you have webcam. That how it is for every camera company EXCEPT Canon.
I have been fighting this Web Cam Utility since it was released. The same issue has been present since day 1: how to get the computer to recognize the camera. I am using a R6. I even bought a brand new usbc cable per the advice of Canon. It worked for about 1 minute and now I'm back to where I started. I must love torture because I continue to battle. I could plug an Insta Link 360 camera to my computer and will work right away. Canon never works. I am frustrated. Why am I paying the monthly fee for the WebCam Utility Pro when it never works. Come on, Canon. It's so disappointing that you have not figured this out by now. The competition is miles ahead of you!

Greetings ,
Sorry, hear about your problems. The R6 has to be in movie mode in order to use it as a webcam. You also need to have a power source so the camera doesn't shut off.
I don't think you said which operating system you're using your camera with? Windows or Mac? What is the version and build of the OS?
Finally, does the camera appear in Windows, explorer or Finder when you plug it in and turn it on?
If you're using a cable, ensure you have wireless on the camera disabled. The cable has to support power and data.
If it's not detected and present there, you're not going to see it in the Webcam Utility Pro. The camera should be connected to an available USB port on the computer and not through an adapter, peripheral or hub.

I am running Tahoe 26.0.1. I have tried all of this and it does not work. I think I need to switch to Sony.
