What color space (sRGB or AdobeRGB) does the R7 use to shoot video?

xmedic9,

The R7 manual doesn't seem to address this one way or the other, so it appears to me that it would use whatever you choose to begin with.

The only thing I could find is that when shooting still photos in the Basic Zone, the camera defaults to the sRGB color space.

I know that on my T8i, sRGB is the initial default setup the camera came with.

xmedic9,

I'm sorry. Please disregard that. I read a little further, and my T8i manual says:

YCbCr 4:2:0 (8 bit) color sampling and the BT.709 color space are used for 4K, Full HD, and HD movies.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what that means.

If you look at online gaming sites, there is a raging debate over whether BT.709 vs. sRGB looks better,

Some people say that in BT.709, the darks are darker. Others say the colors are washed out. Some define BT.709 as a compressed sRGB. Others say that it really depends on the monitor you are using to view the video.

I really don't know enough to have an opinion.
