Unable to update my new EOS R5 firmware

Good morning you fine people. Ok, here is the issue. I've downloaded the file from the Canon website onto the scandisk. Put said disk in camera and navigate to the update area. As soon I I press ok that I want to update, the camera thinks and then the window pops up with the new firmware file, but a second later it shuts down and kicks me back to the menu screen. I can't even press ok on the file. Please help!!! Oh yeah...batteries are at 100%

If you have both cards in the camera remove the one that doesn't have the FIR file.

No dice...same thing happens

Did you try with a freshly formatted card?

Is it loaded on the SD or the CF card?

Mine is fickle, has to be the CF card

Hi,
If referring to the R5 Mark II,  I personally used the Canon Camera Connect app.

At first I used the SD card, then tried the CR card. Same thing happens.
