I don't know if we in NZ have the drop on the rest of the planet because we get the day first, but here is the first teaser announcement on the R1 from Canon NZ:
EOS R1 | Canon New Zealand

Not heavy in detail, but at least is shows intent...

cheers, TREVOR

I think new videos and features will be announced at certain intervals. I expect a similar statement about Canon R5 Mark 2 in the near future.

That's the one I'm waiting for, I held off on the R5 hoping for the new release.

There wasn't really anything of substance in the announcement other than a new processor which will be the greatest thing since we removable lenses.   Hopefully, more stuff will trickle out soon.

I'm pretty much waiting to hear whether this will be the next path (or whether I'll go with the R5ii or whatever).    Of coruse, either way, it the experience with the 200-800 lens disaster it will be six months from placing my order at announcment to actually seeing the hardware.

Yep, I'm still waiting on my 200-800mm. I spoke to my supplier yesterday and they conveyed that Canon has given zero indication on when they will receive their shipment. Canon told them they are still in production.
