If I buy a refurbished R10 from Canon can I still register it?
I tried an online chat, but it referred me back to here.

@stevett1 Hi Steve, Yes you can register Canon's refurbished products and they come with a warranty just as if the product were new from Canon. I see you're joining the mirrorless camera game now.

I've never understood the allure of buying refurbished given that the lower price never seems low enough for me to gamble on something that had some unspecified issue in the first place.

You can register any Canon product, even if you buy a used one. The registration and warranty are separate items. Used equipment (other than Canon refurbished) have no Canon warranty.
