I've had my R6 for about a month. I noticed my firmware is version 1.4 Can I update straight to 1.5.1 or do I need to install 1.5 first and then 1.5.1?
You usually can skip versions, but it's best to ensure that's the case by reading the firmware's documentation. It will provide the requirements (what firmware version you'll need to have).
