R5 confirm focus beep

With an RF lens on my R5 I get a confirming focus beep if I focus the lens manually, however I do not get a confirming focus beep when using a non-RF lens such as a TS-E lens on my R5 via an adapter. Is there a way of getting a confirming focus bleep with a non-RF lens using an adapter?

That is normal.  The beep and green square display is to tell you that the lens has achieved autofocus.  If you are doing the focusing manually, gaining focus is completely your responsibility so you are not going to get a beep.

The camera should still produce a confirmation beep when the lens is set to MF, just like the lens below allows the camera to give you a confirmation beep.DDD24BDD-E024-415B-BD23-822CFC3C5617.jpeg

Hi Everyone!

I found that you can enable 'Focus guide' in the AF menu Number 2. That will show a small focus square which you can move as if it were the AF focus point. It will turn green when you hit focus, but won't beep.

At least a good aid tool, that works perfect. I'm using a, EF mount Carl Zeiss Distagon ZE lens, with the Canon Adapter EF-EOS R.

Hope this helps!
