R5 No Grids HDMI Out

A grid can be displayed on the screen and viewfinder, but when you connect a monitor via HDMI the grids don't get passed to the monitor like the rest of the OSD info???

When an HDMI device is connected does the rear LCD screen still display things. If so your camera maybe set to Clean HDMI Out. Clean HDMI Out doesn't display a lot of the stuff you mention.

Yes, it displays everything but the grids when set to monitor only

Clean HDMI is enabled. Have you checked these settings below. Make sure the camera is set to movie mode. These settings are NOT available in Stills mode. You can Click Here for the full manual. Check pages 373 and 374 in the manual for more information. Have you hit the "Info" button to see if those items are visible.

I have monitored only selected and it displays all the shooting information, AF points, etc to my external monitor. Everything but the grids.

I was looking at this as well, but don't have my camera or a Ninja V+ to test with.

When you are recording on HDMI out, I do not believe you can use gridlines.  The output is "clean".  You can display gridlines amongst other things on the LCD and Viewfinder using the Camera Menu > 7 > Shooting Info display > Grid Display, then toggle between items using the info button.  You can also specify which, LCD, VF or both.

Again however, I don't have my camera with me or a monitor I can record to.  On the R5 the electronic level, grid lines, and histogram cannot be displayed during movie recording.  I think its possible on my R5 C, but I have never tried.

My R5c does output the gridlines to the monitor but the R5 does NOT
