How do I confirm which firmware version is installed on my EOS R100? I can't find in settings.

Is the camera in standard or guided mode?

Go into your menu, select Menu display usually under the first tab.
Change the setting from guided to standard, exit and then return to the menu and follow the previous instructions.

I believe you need to be in M, A or P to view all the menu options. Hopefully someone will clarify. I always go into my menu in M and have access to all the functions.

Good luck. Please let us know if this worked out.

What do you mean from guided to manual. You need to turn the top mode dial to M,Av,Tv or P modes to access the firmware version. It will not work if the camera is set to A+.

  • Power on the camera: Turn on your Canon EOS R100.
  • Access the menu: Press the "Menu" button on your camera.
  • Navigate to Setup: Use the directional buttons or the touchscreen (if available) to find the "Setup" or "Settings" menu (wrench or gear icon).
  • Locate Firmware Version: Within the Setup menu, look for an option like "Firmware", "Firmware Version", or "Version".
  • Selecting this prompt/option will display the currently installed firmware version for the camera body and any lens that you mount onto the body.

Hi Marc:  This is how I tried to find it and there are no firmware-related options in any of the setup folders under function settings (the wrench).  Any other thoughts?

As Marc directed, after pressing the cameras "Menu" button, look in "Functions" ==> menu item 4, as shown on page 553 of the advanced users guide. You can download the manual from the Canon Support page for the EOS R100 🙂

Dang, I forgot to even mention that you have to be in a "Creative" mode, LOL!

Thanks both Marc and Newton.  I changed the display from guided to manual and still no luck.  I have the manual downloaded and will keep digging.  It is not a pressing issue...I just noticed the firmware download on the support site and got to wondering if mine was current.  I purchased it a few months ago so it should be.  As I've demonstrated...I'm very much a novice.  Continuing to dig will only help me become more comfortable with it!

The EOS R100 does NOT feature a touchscreen.
