My pictures were there yesterday. I transferred them to my pc. But didn’t save them. I just went to look at something and they are gone! Pluggers camera into computer. They are not there m. Only 10 pictures are there. There were 300 photos and 4 videos! Now all gone! Anyway to recover the files?

Hi, Tinamarie425!
So that the Community can help provide you with the best solutions, it will be helpful to know which Canon camera you used, what version of Windows or macOS you have, and the software you used to transfer your photos and videos to your computer. If you can think of any other details to share, please do!

You can view on TV using HDMI cable, but you transfer files to computer using USB cable (or as we recommend, a card reader).

Maybe card got corrupted. Which brand SD card? The vendor may provide free recovery software. But first, try putting card into card reader rather tan cable connecting.

There might have been a paper in the package for the SD card for recovery software. You could try the SanDisk website.

I have a T7 and download the SanDisk directly to my PC, W11. Never had any problem but am careful to verify the photos are downloaded before I delete them by putting the card in the T7 and deleting then. Was the camera on to automatically delete?
