Hey Everyone I’m new here!! Nice to meet everyone. For background I’ve had a T100 for 3 years now and I just took it off manual mode. I mainly use it for my daughters track meet and like major family events. But I want to get better and also get a better camera. I have an 70-300 lens I’ve been using but it not giving me the picture quality that I want from the track meets. I use the base lens for pictures with family and that works well for up close pictures but doesn’t have that sharpness to it. I want to eventually to professional photography and do family portraits and street photography. Also want to do sports photography. I read on here that the R10 may be the way to go. All I have right now is basic lens and basic body t100 and I want to step my game up. Willing to pay between 1000-1500 what do you recommend for this price range. I know the different lens I will need will be a bit more which is fine I can get down the line. I have a 50mm lens, and 70-300 lens and then the stock lens that it comes with.

Please provide the FULL NAMES of the lenses you own. The lenses you listed have multiple versions of them. So the exact model name is important. An exact model name would be EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS II USM or EF 85mm F/1.2L II USM lens for example. NOT 70-200mm or 85mm lens because Canon has released multiple lenses with that name. Canon has made 9 different versions of the EF-S 18-55mm kit lens alone. Exact names are important. Below I have some example pictures to find the complete names of your lenses.

Relle14,
Just know that to go from a T100 to an R10 is going to be quite a step up.
There are going to be a whole lot more features and settings to learn and take advantage of.
Give yourself time to learn.
Also, download the pdf manual for it. The electronic version of the manual is a whole lot easier to work with.

We need complete names for all of the lenses. Saying that they’re EF lenses means that they need to be adapted to a Mirrorless camera. A lot older EF lenses released prior to 2009. Are NOT fully compatible with the highly advanced AF system found in the EOS R series. There will be compatibility limitations with older lenses. It’s the lenses that you use impact the AF system and image quality. Your 75-300mm lens is the biggest limitation you have. Getting a new body but keeping the same old slow lens will NOT help you. A good camera needs good glass to go along with it.

Relle14,
Remember to give yourself a little wiggle room. You're probably going to have to buy an extra battery or two, and probably some new memory cards.
If you want to use any of your existing EF lenses, you'll need an EF-EOSR adapter. They run about $125.
Just as an aside, I think you will love the articulating LCD screen in the R10, the faster burst shooting speed and the faster processor.
