Hello there!
Hoping to gain insight on this.
I've been running into issues where my flash is misfiring on my R6. I've been reading online that this is actually a problem with the R line and the hot shoe. Which is incredibly disappointing. I have never had this issue with my Mark IV's. 😞 I was wondering if this could be fixed permanently or will I have to constantly have to send it back in to get it re-tightened? I need to resolve this issue. I've also run into issues where my flash comes LOOSE from the shoe. This has resulted in my flash falling off my camera or not reading and firing. PLEASE HELP. Also, if you've sent your camera in to get your hot shoe tightened, cleaned, etc. how do you go about packaging it and mailing it off? This will be my first time shipping my gear off.
All in all, just looking for how folks went about this because I don't want to trouble shoot this myself and break my camera.

Greetings gracethao97,
We recommend on sending the EOS R6 camera to our facility for service. Items purchased directly from Canon USA or from an Authorized Canon Dealer do include a one-year warranty if the item was purchased less than a year ago. You may view a list of Authorized Canon Dealers by clicking on the following link. I would recommend including a copy of your Proof of Purchase when sending in your item for the facility to review for any in-warranty service or repair.

With the camera, please ensure you remove all accessories off of it. You will hold on to the battery pack, lens, camera strap, memory card. Since it's not necessary to include the lens please place the body cap back onto the camera. Wrap the camera in about 3-5 inches of bubble wrap and place it inside a plain, non-descript box. Please ensure there's enough padding material inside to prevent the camera from shifting during transit. We recommend to not use the original product box that was included with the camera.
Canon U.S.A., Inc. has created a new online repair portal that allows you to set up service in a few simple steps. The portal's service history section allows you to view all services that have been performed on any of your camera or video products since January 7, 2020.

This is a repair best performed by Canon or an authorized repair facility. Tightening the hot shoe requires major disassembly of the camera. Its best performed by someone who is knowledgeable and who has access to any replacement parts which might be needed. Package the camera well and insure the shipment. Repairs come with a 6 month warranty. Without warranty, the repair usually runs about $400 depending on what's needed.
