EOS R5 -Turning off Liveview

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious - how do I turn off the liveview on the display screen, but still be able to look at photos taken using the screen?  I see how to turn it completely off, but I want to be able to see what I've taken, and have the menu access on the screen as opposed to the viewfinder.

Hello, NYPhoto!

As Ricky mentioned, one of your INFO presses (it's a toggle) should bring up a "blank" screen. You can still review the images you take and the menu, but there will be no live view(s) in its various configurations, like with info options you have set.

If you aren't getting a "blank" screen during your INFO button presses, you may need to go into the "Shooting" (Red) menu, go to screen 7, then scroll down to "Shooting info disp." and select that. A new options window will open that will allow you to select what will be shown on your rear LCD. Place a check in item 6 "Screen off".

IIRC, this option was added to the R5 during a firmware update, so if you don't see item 6, update your cameras firmware. My R5 is on 2.1.0.

Should be the same as in the R5 Mark II; press the Info button to cycle amongst the various displays. I typically keep mine on the quick settings display when not using the live view display.

I would suggest simply closing the screen.

Thank You! That was the key - selecting the option 6 in the red menu. Thanks for the help!
