R3 in Asus windows 11 Home computer reporting ZERO file size files, fine on camera, windows 11 no c

Not sure why you're hesitant to try what could be a solution.  In general, using card readers does allow for the maximum chance of success.   They are also very inexpensive.

windows 11 is more than capable but not to see 454gig files on  the canon R3

have you folk encountered this at all, seems no one knows that DPP and Lightroom can handle video  well, import minor editing.  And no one seems to have the experience with large files.

Yes, we have encountered people that do not want to try basic troubleshooting suggestions that they have been given.  I gave up on you a week ago when it became apparent that you are trying to access the files on the memory card while the card is still in the camera.  The camera blocks other apps from accessing the files while the memory card is in the camera.

The camera is not a memory stick.  Believe it or not, attempting to read file file properties such as file size requires that the file metadata be read.  File names do not require that a file be 0pened, as that information is stored in the directory.

I find your refusal to copy the files from the camera to a computer unreasonable.

Seems all windows 11 computers have this issue, brought it to BestBuy and Staples each machine could not see the HUGE files.  Yet Windows 10 no problem, can you give me a direct number or they can contact me I am CPS and enjoy that support.

its just a chipset vs windows 11 support/canon huge files, thanks for the Help Stephen.

Every version of Windows “has this problem”, as well every version of MacOS.

[EDIT] File size has nothing to do with it.  File access is blocked!
