EOS R1 Unable to set AF settings

why am i not able to set the af setting in the first pink menu of canon r1?

What lens is on the camera? Normally if an EF or RF lens is fitted you can choose from the available options. It looks like a lens is attached since the line above only shows manual focus when no lens is attached.

Currently I have a Kit RF lens on R1. As I am setting up the new camera for use in the field

Can you set the AF area from the shooting screen by pressing the Q button?

If you press the SET button while the blank AF area bar is highlighted, do you get a message or warning?
