YO!
I have an Eos rebel t3 with EOS 2 Utility installed. I'm on a Mac mini with macOS Mojave [10.14.6]. I connect my t3 with an usb to my Mac mini.
Everytime I try to connect by plugging in cord to t3 and turning it on, EOS 2 comes up--and the dreaded beachball appears. I wait...and wait..and wait before I force quit.
I have re-installed EOS 2,
I have clicked on EOS 2 without camera attached [EOS window appears]
I'd like to have some help, please.

The most recent Apple macOS update is not compatible with 32-bit applications. Use a card reader.

Thanks for the info. When you say card reader, what do you mean?

32-bit wasn't dropped until Catalina. OP is using Mojave.
EOSU2 opens properly on my MacBook with Catalina. EOSU2 2.14.20 is 64-bit.
My T5i opens EOSU2 fine. Problem lies elsewhere for the OP.
